Luskentyre Beach Bed & Breakfast
Bed & breakfast and self-catering caravan holidays on the shores of Luskentyre — one of the world's most beautiful beaches.
At the very edge of Europe, on the west coast of Harris, lies Luskentyre — a place that stops time. Our home sits on a working croft overlooking those famous sands, where you can walk for a mile before seeing another soul. We offer warm Hebridean hospitality in the form of a bed & breakfast room in our home, and two self-catering caravans a few steps from the beach, set against a backdrop that must be seen to be believed.
Three ways to experience Luskentyre — all with the same unforgettable views
A comfortable and attractive double room with en-suite facilities in our family home, looking out across the machair and beach. Breakfast prepared with care each morning.
Our larger caravan sits on the croft within sight and sound of the sea. One double with en-suite, one twin room, and a spacious living area that sleeps two more — ideal for families or couples wanting a little more space.
Our cosy six-berth caravan has a double bedroom, a twin bunk room, and a fitted dining area that converts to sleep two more. Simple, peaceful, and utterly remote.
Looking west from Luskentyre, the next landfall is Newfoundland.
Luskentyre sits on the west coast of Harris in the Outer Hebrides — widely described by travellers and writers as one of the most beautiful spots in Europe. The village is quiet and small, framed by the North Harris hills and the Island of Taransay across the bay.
A mobile shop passes through the village three days a week. Leverburgh lies 15 miles to the south, with Stornoway a 50-mile drive north. Harris Tweed weaving can still be seen at working looms across the island — a craft that has shaped life here for generations.
Harris is reached by car ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or by flights to Stornoway on Lewis from Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow via Loganair.

Make the most of one of Scotland's most dramatic and diverse landscapes
Step onto the sands from our gate — mile after mile of white shell-sand lapped by electric-blue Atlantic water.
Otters, seals, golden eagles, red deer and an abundance of wading birds make Harris a naturalist's paradise.
Watch Harris Tweed being hand-woven at working looms across the island — a craft that has defined life here for generations.
Several lochs nearby offer excellent brown trout and salmon fishing in beautiful Highland surroundings.
A wild 9-hole course just a few miles south — playing with Atlantic views on every hole.
From dune walks to rugged mountain ridges in North Harris — every direction offers something spectacular.
