Tigh Mo Sheanair

Luskentyre Beach Bed & Breakfast

Bed & breakfast and self-catering caravan holidays on the shores of Luskentyre — one of the world's most beautiful beaches.

Tigh Mo Sheanair — My Grandfather's House

A shell-white strip of sand, an Atlantic of impossible blue, and a home on the edge of it all.

At the very edge of Europe, on the west coast of Harris, lies Luskentyre — a place that stops time. Our home sits on a working croft overlooking those famous sands, where you can walk for a mile before seeing another soul. We offer warm Hebridean hospitality in the form of a bed & breakfast room in our home, and two self-catering caravans a few steps from the beach, set against a backdrop that must be seen to be believed.

Finding Us

At the edge of the world

Luskentyre sits on the west coast of Harris in the Outer Hebrides — widely described by travellers and writers as one of the most beautiful spots in Europe. The village is quiet and small, framed by the North Harris hills and the Island of Taransay across the bay.

A mobile shop passes through the village three days a week. Leverburgh lies 15 miles to the south, with Stornoway a 50-mile drive north. Harris Tweed weaving can still be seen at working looms across the island — a craft that has shaped life here for generations.

Harris is reached by car ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or by flights to Stornoway on Lewis from Inverness, Edinburgh and Glasgow via Loganair.
